Amega Ranges Frequently Asked Questions
For the Ruger Mini-14, M1-Garand, and M1/M1A
MODEL COMPATIBILITY
What does it fit? ONLY the Ruger® Mini-14™ or
Mini-14 Ranch Rifle™- This bolt-on unit fits either version of the .223 cal.
Rifle.
Will it fit a Ruger® Mini-30™? No. Although this
model may be offered in the future.
Will it fit an M1 carbine? Or an M14? No.
INSTALLATION
How is it attached? The bolt-on design replaces the
hand guard and upper gas block. No drilling, cutting, machining or other
modification to the rifle is required. Just field strip your Mini-14™ and
follow the simple installation instructions. Two hex wrenches are provided for
assembly.
Will I need a gunsmith to install it? No. This product is
intended to be owner- installed, but you can have your gunsmith do it if you
wish.
Do I have to modify the rifle to install it? No. And
you can easily return the rifle to its original configuration by reinstalling
the OEM upper gas block and handguard.
How long will it take me to install it? It shouldn’t
take more than five minutes.
What tools do I need to install it? The two hex wrenches
provided.
How can I mount a flashlight on it? With the
addition of the Tactical
Light Mount Kit.
Will it get hot if I shoot it a lot? No more so than
with the OEM handguard and upper gas block. They will always heat up with a high
volume of fire.
SIGHTS
Will I still be able to use the open sights? Yes, the
ample sighting groove on the top of the mount allows a clear field of view for
use of open sights when scopes or other sighting devices are not attached.
What kind of sights can I mount on it? It
accepts all modern tactical sight systems (ACOG, CQB, Holosights, Red-dot,
etc.), Pistol or Scout scopes. More sighting options than ever before.
Will it interfere with the scope I already have mounted?
No. If you are using Ruger® rings, or an after-market mount that positions your
scope over the receiver in the traditional position, the MSM can still be
installed and will not interfere.
FLASHLIGHTS
How does the Light Rail attach? It is attached
to the mount body with two screws and the wrench provided. The Rail can be
positioned at different screw holes to allow use of larger flashlights.
What if I am left-handed? It is easily installed on
either side of the mount body for right or left-handed shooters.
Can I mount Light Rails on both sides of the MSM?
Yes.
How does a light attach to the Light Rail? This
accessory allows the officer to slide on any quick-detachable tactical
flashlight (such as the Streamlight® AALM3, M6, etc.) that utilize Picatinny or
Glock® rails. It will also accept any flashlight mounted in a Weaver-style
scope ring.
